Southern Universities Network: National Outreach Programme24 May 2021 (by Lisa Slight (lslight)) |
Letter to Year 9 Students
I am pleased to inform you that we are delighted to once again be working with the Southern University Network (SUN), made up of the Arts University Bournemouth, University of Portsmouth, Southampton Solent University, University of Southampton and the University of Winchester, in order to access additional support for our pupils in year 9 through to year 11 during their KS4 journey and beyond.
The support will take many forms but will likely include visits to different Universities and guest speakers and workshops to be run in school. These activities are being provided in order to widen participation into routes after St Edmunds, for example, BTECs, A-Levels, NVQs, Foundation Degrees, Degrees and Young Apprenticeships.
The SUN require all pupils to complete an online questionnaire regarding their aspirations for post KS4 life and education. The SUN need this information in order to determine a baseline for their research so that the funding, being provided by the Department of Education, can continue.
I attach a copy of the letter from the SUN for your information.
Please don’t hesitate to contact me in school on extension 229 should you have any queries.
