Sports Hall

On the 13th November 2013 St Edmund's officially opened its brand new Sports Hall which is the largest of its kind in the City.

The new Sports Hall provides the students of St Edmund’s the equality of a sporting education they deserve. New previously hidden talents, experiences and ‘smiles’ will be ensured for future generations of young people.

Astro Pitch

In September 2014 the school enriched the lives of its students by the opening of the school's new Astro Pitch.

Wearing the correct Astro footwear, students can now take advantage of the extra-curricular opportunities this now creates as well as in use for PE lessons e.g. football and hockey as demonstrated in the pictures above.

Dance Studio

A bright modern Dance Studio equipped with sound system, floor to ceiling mirrors and sprung floor. The Dance Studio is situated within the main Sports Hall.

Technology Block

We opened our new purpose built Technology teaching facility in September 2017. It features three state-of-the-art Computer Labs, two general purpose teaching rooms, a large Graphics Design studio with additional computers and printing facilities, and a large Electronics / Resistant Materials workshop that includes a full-size flat-bed Laser Cutter, industrial cutting, sanding and drilling machinery and Solder stations.

Swimming Pool

The school has a swimming pool which is used extensively by its students during the day and through the swimming club extra-curricular activities.

Currently the swimming pool also attracts a wide range of community involvement which has been developed over the past 4-5 years.  These include use by other schools; Local Clubs and Community Groups.Currently the swimming pool also attracts a wide range of community involvement which has been developed over the past 4-5 years.  These include use by other schools; Local Clubs and Community Groups.

This facility is well utilised throughout the year at all times throughout the day.

Traditional Stage

The School Hall and Stage area are equipped with modern in-house sound and lighting systems. The school hosts a variety of events including dance, drama and musical performances throughout the year.
